Memorial Tree & Bench Program
Memorial Tree & Bench Program
In May 2007, The Grayslake Community Park District and Grayslake Park Foundation created a special place in Central Park to commemorate loved ones. The “Reflection Pond and Walkway” provides community members with an opportunity to enhance Central Park, while honoring loved ones with donations of trees, benches, and landscaping. This program has become a beloved way to honor family and friends. Due to overwhelming participation, we are pleased to announce that the Reflection Pond and Walkway has reached full capacity. Each tree planted stands as a beautiful tribute to cherished memories and loved ones. For those wishing to commemorate loved ones with a memorial tree, all new memorial trees will now be at Alleghany Park. This Memorial Tree Program will begin Fall of 2024.
Each tree, or bench, is equipped with a personalized plaque (6″ x 8″).
Birthdays, anniversaries, or the loss of a loved one can be commemorated.
Trees and landscaping can be purchased at any time, but installation will be done in the spring and the fall. The installation of benches will depend on weather and availability.
