Age: 4 – 6 years
Our Nature Detectives explore nature at its best. Become an expert on a different nature topic each class. Each theme will be explored through hands-on activities, experiments and outdoor exploration. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather!
Muddy Marshes
Marshes are very important to our ecosystem. Explore the wildlife, plants and water. Your child will be stepping in mud and water, so they will need to wear high boots.

Seedlings of the Plains
Join us at Rollins Savanna to explore the plants that make our area and ecosystem so special! Hunt down new seedlings, discuss how they produce and their important role in keeping a healthy ecosystem. We will be hiking through tall grasses that may contain bugs and ticks. Please spray your child with bug spray and dress them appropriately for hiking.

Awakening Amphibians
Explore amphibians awakening from their winter slumber. Search ponds and marshes to find everything from salamanders to frogs. Learn about amphibians native to the Grayslake area. This class will be held at the Meadowview Park Nature Trail, so please park in the Meadowview School parking lot.
