Holiday parties are sometimes stressful for children. What will I talk about at the dinner table? How do I respond to “Uncle Norm” when he asks me nonstop questions? What do I say to the person I don’t like? How do you exit the event without looking like you can’t wait to leave? How do you stay composed when the unexpected happens at the party? These are all typical concerns that kids have before of any holiday event. This workshop led by a life coach will give fast tips on how to easily initiate conversation, respond confidently to questions, show gratitude, stay composed, and have a blast. After the methods are explicitly taught, kids will be invited at their comfort level to segue into a mock holiday dinner party setting to practice their skills. Snacks and hilarious laughter are served up as we practice our new anticipatory communication party skills. This practice lab where we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but still learn a lot, is appropriate for shy to extremely extroverted attendees. This mix of kids trying their personal best makes for a perfectly festive party lab setting! This is a drop off class and contractual program.
